Alginate

Alginate moulding powder in New Zealand is a fast-setting material used for life casting hands, faces, body parts and dental impressions. Known for capturing fine surface detail, it is popular for keepsakes, special effects and classroom projects. Because alginate is a temporary mould material, casting should take place soon after it sets. Suitable for skin contact, it is often reinforced with plaster bandages to create a supportive case mould.
