AK100 Silicone Diluent
The AK100 Silicone Diluent from WACKER is a clear, non-reactive silicone fluid designed to modify viscosity and flow in a range of silicone systems. Packed by Barnes, this versatile additive opens up creative and technical possibilities in not only silicone and mould making projects, but also resin art.
Key Features:
Non-reactive diluent – blends into silicones without initiating cure reactions.
Viscosity control – use in small amounts (up to 10%) to thin materials while retaining most of their cured physical properties. When added to silicones at up to 30%, it produces very soft, floppy, “skin-like” cured materials.
Creative pigment effects – in resin art, just a drop or two can “shatter” pigments, pushing them apart to create striking special effects. Helps create cell-like pigment separation
in opaque white pigments.
Important Notes:
At higher loadings in silicone, the final cured material may show an oily surface and feel like it is leeching — this is normal but should be considered for end use.
For best results, test ratios on a small scale before committing to a project.
