The Metal Coating “B” is specially formulated to provide a natural looking metal finish that a patina may be applied to. They are a blend of acrylic resin and real metal sheared into the mix. This is a tough, beautiful, and non-hazardous product that contains no VOC’s. Depending on your application method, you can achieve a variety of different finishes. This coating may be applied by brush, sponge, roller, or spray gun, each giving their own unique effects.
Metal Coatings work on most surfaces and will bond even better if used in conjunction with the Prime It. They may be applied to both metal and non-metal surfaces such as glass, wood, ceramics, concrete, foam, and resin. When applying the Metal Coatings to ferrous metals (iron, steel, and aluminum), a primer must be used to protect the underlying metal. The Metal Coatings are very durable outside (10 to 15 years) and are non-hazardous. One Gallon of Metal Coating will cover 9m2 (this includes the recommended two layers).
We supply the “B” Coatings from Sculpt Nouveau and you may use these in conjunction with some of the patinas such as the Traditional and Birchwood ranges. The patinas will work best when applied to the final, wet coat. These patinas will stop developing once the metal coating has dried. Not all patinas will work on the Metal Coatings, so conduct a small test first to ensure the product develops to the result you desire.
After 24-48 hours, depending on temperature and humidity, a clear coat is recommended to help preserve the finish. Depending on environmental conditions, some maintenance may be required over time.
The “C” Coating from Sculpt Nouveau may be indent ordered. Please contact us with the metal type and size you want and we can get a quote for you.
