Smash-It

SMASH-IT is a breakaway blend made from high quality resins and polymers to give a unique glass effect. This product has been widely used on many film and TV productions. Glass like clarity. Can be heated and hand poured. Will shatter like glass. Can be colored using oil soluble dyes mixed in white oil. Melting point 115 degrees Celsius, Softening Point 105 degrees, Density 1.1 g/cc. SMASH-IT is best heated in purpose built wax melting pots, that the temperature is properly controlled, as excessive temperature will cause the product to yellow and temperatures should never exceed 160 degrees Celsius. The normal pouring temperature of SMASH-IT is 120 140 degrees Celsius. for best results SMASH-IT should be poured into silicone rubber moulds or silicone coated moulds. Purpose built table for casting glass panels are also widely used. Effects can also be created, such as using aluminium foil for a frosted effect.
